Infowars host Alex Jones was captured making revealing and uncharacteristic comments about former President Donald Trump in a video leaked Tuesday.
The professional peddler of conspiracy theories launched into a generally positive tirade about Trump when he made a mistake and then appeared to say what he really thought.
“Part of me, the selfish part, wishes I’d never met Donald Trump, wishes that I’d never met Roger Stone, because unlike previous things I’ve done that were game-changing, those were just time-space continuum reflections of the third big change I was going to be involved in, that was bringing Donald John Trump into awesome,” Jones said in the video.
“Just let me say that again, I said awesome, into office,” he added, noting his mistake and addressing the film crew.
“Because this is, you guys are asking really good questions, this gonna be a really good thing. But I’m gonna say it again in a minute,” Jones continued.
“It’s the truth, and I’m just going to say it. That I wish I never would have f***ing met Trump,” he said.
“I wish it never would have happened,” Jones continued. “And it’s not the attacks I’ve been through. I’m so sick of f***ing Donald Trump, man. God, I’m f***ing sick of him. And I’m not doing this because, like, I’m kissing his f***ing ass, you know. It’s, like, I’m sick of it.”
The video was published by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which said the clip was an outtake from a movie titled, “You Can’t Watch This.”
Jones has been a vehement and passionate Trump defender and was one of the prominent speakers at the U.S. Capitol before the lethal rioting on Jan. 6.
“We have only begun to resist the globalists. We have only begun our fight against their tyranny. They have tried to steal this election in front of everyone,” Jones said to Trump supporters at the Capitol. “I don’t know how this is all going to end, but if they want to fight, they better believe they’ve got one.”
Jones has been sued by the father of one of the victims at the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, over his claims that the event was staged and that the participants were crisis actors. Other family members of the victims have reported heinous harassment by those who believe the conspiratorial claims propagated by Jones.
Earlier in February, the families of some of the victims were given a green light by the Texas Supreme Court to continue their million-dollar lawsuit against Jones.
